The Evolution of Solar Water Heater or Solar Geysers in Pakistan

Our group got it’s first solar water heater / solar geyser project in the year 2014, the unit installed then were very basic in nature and were designed based on a simplistic approach with no controlled back up electric heating and no cold water inlet control. Here’s how we have customized the product based on the local environment & our experience to make it the best solar water heater in Pakistan.

2014. Solar Water heater with the following description is introduced in the market most unit are installed without back up heating element which results in not so desired results due to cloudy and foggy days and most people start to think that a solar water heater is not apt for the Pakistani environment.

2015. A Digital Controller is introduced to efficiently control electric heating; the digital controller automatically turns off the electric heating element after the desired water temperature is reached in the system. Electric heater usage is required in cloudy & foggy days and if not used the overall temperature within the tank is disturbed and it becomes difficult for the system.

2017. Insulation of the tank is increased from 40mm to 60mm after it is observed that that systems are loosing considerable temperature in the long winter nights of Islamabad.

2018. Cold water inlet is controlled by introducing a solenoid valve which is connected to the digital controller, the digital controller smartly controls water filling by sensing the temperature & level of the water present in the tank, this introduction greatly improves the efficiency of the system.

2019. Magnesium rod sacrificial anode is introduced. A sacrificial anode attracts corrosive materials to itself before other metals, the tank’s inner body in this case thus protecting it from corrosion.

2020. Units are certified under ISO & Pakistan Standards.

2021. WiFi enabled digital controllers are introduced that let the users control their solar water geysers / heaters through their cell phones enhancing the overall efficiency of the solar water heaters many folds.

2022. All stainless steel body solar waters are introduced, the outer tank & frame is made of SS 201 grade which protects it from corrosion & rust as it is observed that the outer GI body is found prone to catching rust, if not properly maintained, enhancing the life of the units by almost 10 years to a total of 25 years.

2024. After complaints of electric heating elements getting out of order too quickly, Incoloy 800 heating element is introduced. Incoloy 800 is a nickel-chromium alloy material that is currently recognized as the world’s best heating tube. Be it heating efficiency, corrosion resistance and overall stability, it is much better than traditional stainless steel elements.
